Inaugural Bethesda film fest to showcase short Documentaries by Local Filmmakers
Submissions are being accepted for March film festival The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District announces the first Bethesda Film Fest, scheduled for 8pm, Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Imagination Stage in downtown Bethesda.
Bethesda Film Fest is produced by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District.
Bethesda Film Fest will promote and honor the work of local and regional documentary filmmakers with a formal screening featuring up to five short documentary films by filmmakers from Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. A documentary by a young filmmaker, under 18 years of age, may also be chosen.
The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District is accepting submissions for the inaugural Bethesda Film Fest. Selected filmmakers will be invited to show their documentary at the formal screening and will receive a $150 honorarium.
Entries will be viewed by the Bethesda Film Fest selection panel, consisting ofAngelica Das, Associate Director at the Center for Social Media at American University’s School of Communication; David Stern, Director of Digital Media at Imagination Stage, and members of the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District Board of Directors.
Filmmakers in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. are eligible to submit a short documentary film, 5-20 minutes in length. All topics are eligible. Films must have been completed within the last two years. Young filmmakers, under 18 years of age, may also submit work.
