CASTING "ETHNICALLY AMBIGUOUS" FAMILES FOR DISNEY!

  I was just reading a casting request which states, "Ethnically Ambiguous Family - by this, we mean that you don't look like blonde-haired blue-eyed Americans - and you can't tell by looking at you what ethnicity/country you are from."

This isn't the first time, I'd see such as listing but I have to say this time, what’s up with many productions like commercials featuring ethnically ambiguous people?  They can be Middle Eastern; Latina, biracial, multiracial or light skinned black, but they can’t be Caucasian or Black.  I guess in the minds of content producers this is how they create “diversity” in the media by using ethnically ambiguous people, so that all groups can identify with them because they are not like any one particular group. They are middle of the road people who can “pass” for belonging to many  groups.  At least, that’s what content producers believe when they make the choices they make, but changing the people featured in the media from mainly attractive Caucasians to attractive ethnically ambiguous is not a step in the right direction because there are so many people who are not Caucasian or ethnically ambiguous people who watch the media. Inter-ethnic and interracial relationships abound and multiculturalism in the melting pot we call the US of A is real. I know. The number of people who identify themselves as multiracial is huge, but I still believe all groups should be represented in main stream media even though like the picture above America is heading towards being a country of ambigous looking people,
The media needs to reflect the real racial and ethnic make-up of all people who live in the current USA. At least that’s what I believe and will be doing in the near future. Look out for my productions in the future; you’ll see someone who looks just like you in it!
